Well, I just had to face a new plumbing challenge… Something I had fixed before, but this time, what I’ve always done didn’t work (#frustrating).
Dealing with a leaky bathtub faucet, I got the tools, removed the handle and stem, replace the washer, put it back together, and…it still leaked!! (#veryfrustrating)
So, I did what every self-proclaimed handy man would do…
• Went to YouTube!!! (What did people do before YouTube?)
There I discovered there is this thing called a “seat” deep inside the fixture that can wear out and need replacing… (One more trip to the hardware store…)
So, sometimes, our tried and true fixes don’t work, and we have to take a closer look at our problem.
You know, God always has a lesson for me in my plumbing adventures!!
In our spiritual lives, we all face struggles, and with Christ, we overcome them. Some of these struggles happen again later in life, and we have our past experience to help us through.
But sometimes, just like my most recent plumbing repair, what we did in the past doesn’t get the job done this time…
So, what do you do? Go to YouTube?
• No, of course not (please don’t turn to YouTube for spiritual answers)
But you do have to take a closer look…
In The Bible, Matthew 7: 7 tells us what to do when we need to take a closer look:
• Ask
• Seek
• Knock
Some ways to do this are;
• Start praying, asking God for the solution
• Read The Bible…The Holy Spirit will lead you to an answer there
• Talk to your pastor
Get rid of #frustrated!!
Step back, take a closer look, and allow God to direct you…
The truth is, you haven’t failed; God is equipping you for greater victories!!
